Born Dieu Merci Mapumba Cilombo Congo DRC in 1980, Mapumba is a vocalist-guitarist, now based in South Africa. After finishing his studies in Zambia, he went on a quest to follow his passion for music.
Arriving in Cape Town (South Africa) with his guitar as a companion in the year 2000, he took advantage of any chance he could get to enhance his performance and musical skills.

His main instruments are voice and the guitar but he enjoys playing percussion and piano too.Mapumba featured in Boy-Band shows, played solo at events and played alongside international house music DJs in clubs...
He is currently based in Johannesburg, and performs with a five-piece band. Mapumba's self-produced debut album, was released in 2007.
