After being a singer, bass player (Zap Mama, Tambours de Brazza),
percussion player and dancer, Manou Gallo has now her own group :“Le Djiboi" With this group she brings African music in a very inventive and modern way.
For the music, she has been inspired by the Djiboi (natives of the Ivory Coast, Manou’s homeland) but also by her current western musical culture. The combination of soul, funk and blues is within the concept of ‘groove' a common denominator.World ‘hot' music full of emotion and sensitivities expressed in various languages (Dida, French and English).

Manou was selected in the official programme of WOMEX 2003in Sevilla (Spain) and MIDEM 2004 in Cannes (France) for the "Voices of the World" night with Mariza, Ilene Barnes and Stacey Kent.
During 2004/2005, Manou gave more then 80 concerts in 10 different European countries + Canada , USA and Mexico.
Highlight moments were at the Natt Jazz Festival (Norway), International Africa Festival (Germany), Couleur Cafe Festival (Belgium), Open Air Frauenfeld (Switzerland), Francofolies de Spa (Belgium), Francofolies de Montréal (Canada), Nice Jazz Festival (France), Sunsplash Festival (Austria), Mercat de Musica de Vic (Spain), Nancy Jazz Pulsation (France), Mundial Festival (Holland), Dos Atlanticos Festival (Portugal), Kesse Festival (Spain), Dialecta Festival (Belgium), Hot House Chicago (USA), International Festival of Louisiana (USA), OllinKan World Music Festival Mexico D.F (Mexico)
Manou Gallo & le Djiboi will make their debut SA appearance at the Arts Alive “Africa Unite" Concert, taking place at Mary Fitzgerald Square on 2 September 2005.
